This season promises to be an exciting one for Keysborough Cricket Club, on and off the field. During the off-season the club welcomed Peter Curtis as Club Secretary, as well as welcoming Jason Brown, Alex Lilley, Darren Bedford, Lou Papa and Dave McIvor to our new look committee. We also undertook a big step change for the club by adopting a nickname, and from this season we will be known as the Knights. We will have a new range of clothing apparel for sale bearing our new emblem, including One Day tops, white shirts, shorts, singlets, supporter shirts and hats.
For the club to be successful we identified that we needed support from sponsors, and for season 2012/13 the club greatly appreciates the following sponsors – Parkmore Shopping Centre ( our major sponsor), Air Alliance, Mac Global Freight Solutions, Melsteel and Danber Financial Services. Without their support the club would surely struggle to survive.
On field we have been fortunate to retain the services of Andre Peters as coach, with Baden Saunders captaining the First Eleven. We also welcome our English import Max Morley to Keysborough CC, Jake (fish) Whiting, Shakeel Ahmad, Daniel Hoggett, Harry Sidhu, Bikram Singh, Paramvir Singh, and a host of other new players vying for a spot in our First Eleven. The fight to regain our position in Turf 1 will be a massive challenge this seaon, but if enthusiasm and player numbers at training are any indication then we are on the right track. This season we will also be conducting the Milo In2Cricket program. If you know of any kids between the ages of 6-11 that would like to give cricket a go, then this is the program for them. See Alex Lilley for details.
Off field the club has entrusted Jason Brown and Alex Lilley to plan for this seasons functions – all of which will be available to see on the Events Calendar tab. On Thursday selection nights Alby will be cooking up a storm on the BBQ, and on Saturday nights at the completion of 2 day games we will be presenting match awards. This season we will also present a Player of The Month Award, and judged by Stephen Hennigan and Darren Chatfield.
Good luck to all of our players and teams for season 2012/2013, and remember to play hard and play fair
